I find that Voodoo2 SLI + 3.2Ghz P4 result very interesting, obviously thats the CPU contributing to that, I doubt that in game a V2 SLI can outdo or match a V5500, though I suspect the 800Mhz CPU Im using is probably holding it back a bit.

wanted to run 3DMark99 on my Win2K machine, but sadly there are compatibility problems it seems.

Really nice score indeed. I was curious about this because I get around the same framerate in Test 1- around 152 fps with my system and a 5500 @ 188mhz but the fps on the second test are about 25 less than yours

[/quote]

Please post your system specs and if you can a benchmark on that similar system of yours 😀

Just updated the BIOS on the MS-6309 motherboard from 1.6 to 1.9. It previously had a Packard Bell splash screen with a very cut down "AMI Easy Bios" After the update it has the full BIOS installed, settings for everything 😀 No more Packard Bell Bios screen either!

I've not touched the Bios yet, so thought I would make sure everything is running OK. Looks like I gained a 100 points from just the update 😊

YES! Broke the 30K barrier!
Pentium M overclocked to 2.7GHz, GeForce 6800GT, 2GB DDR2-533, i915PM chipset.

Not too shabby for a CPU released in 2004. A bit faster than K8 clock-for-clock!

Nice scores above!
I have yet to try the benchmark on a faster machine other then my win8.1 machine. which dosn't work correctly even with the ddraw fix, fps gets capped to 30. D3d overrider no help.

Voodoo 3 is being oced to 3000 Speeds, as I did not want to dig out my PCI 3000 from my PII 450 system 🤣 .
Kinda expected a better score, but I think the drivers are limiting it a bit, as the 2000 drivers are not as mature as the 9x, also the 2k drivers are being run in XP3, 3dfx tools doesn't work at all as a consequence.
Used Voodoo Control to disable V-sync.
System was also very picky about slots with this card, Would not post in anything but PCI slot 3, and thats with every other PCI card removed too.

I usually don't run 3D benchmarks on any of my builds, but just for fun I gave this a shot 😀

Pentium 4 2.4GHz Northwood, Soyo P4I-845PE, 512mb DDR-333 ram, NVIDIA GeForce 4 Ti 4200 128mb AGP, DirectX 8.1b, Windows 98SE

ou873C5l.png 9a5dRMsl.png
I7AEy16l.png bBU4gxll.png

Used to have a GeForce FX5500, but had unexpected issues with some DirectDraw games and replaced it with the GeForce 4. Using 40.72 WHQL NVIDIA driver, VSync disabled.

Pentium 166MMX, Asus TX97-XE, 64mb EDO ram, 3dfx Voodoo 2 1000 12mb, DirectX 7.0a, Windows 95A

5EazdsUl.png 18P4Wiql.png

I can't quite remember what driver the Voodoo 2 is using (I believe is 3.03.00). Couldn't disable VSync so I just ran it as-is. 2D card is a Matrox Millennium II 4mb.

Core i5-3350p, MSI Z77A-G43 (MS-7758), 8gb DDR3 ram, NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 2gb PCIe, DirectX 11, Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

AkELJWSl.png KxPSkCbl.png
kR51Ibzl.png cKehjBHl.png

I didn't expect 3DMark99 to run on Win7 64, but it did (thanks Putas for the tip). More or less what I expected of my middle-of-the-road main rig. Using 310.90 WHQL NVIDIA driver, VSync disabled.

As a final note, no overclocking, memory timing or voltage changes were done. All tests were run with BIOS defaults.

The shittiest socket A system in the world:

Nice scores Jaycee especially the Pentium 166mmx.

SD-Steve, Does that Integrated pro savage display everything correctly in the benchmark?
It is an s3 chip, so just curious if it does.

Yep, everything looked OK in 3dmark 99 and 2000. Most of 3DMark01 even looked normal. GT2 (Dragothic) had quite a bit of color banding, despite running in 32-bit color.

That is surprising I'd expect it to display like the Virge chips, textures missing or incorrectly rendered etc 🤣 !

Savages were mature full featured chips.

Here is my database of vintage3d scope and some more cards: http://www.vintage3d.org/data/MOJE.3DB
There is a problem though, image quality results were not saved properly, there were few results pasted over all other cards and now completely disappeared. Anybody knows what's up with that?

made some big changes to my Win98 machine, I wanted a 1Ghz machine, but native 1000/100Mhz PIIIs are extremely rare and expensive, and I couldn't find any decently priced powerleap adapters either. I ended up going the Athlon route and getting an Abit KT7-RAID, which has a useful ISA slot , and a 1Ghz Athlon 1000. Also added in a 350w Enermax PSU from another build, to replace the generic 230w PSU I had in there.

Abit KT7-RAID (latest bios and ViA drivers
Athlon 1000

Voodoo 5500 AGP (latest official drivers)

not a big fan of the VIA chipsets (certainly compared to the 440BX) but it will do, the CPU came with a Zalman fan shaped cooler which looks cool .
