Awesome!👍
On what page did this change to any hardware instead of period correct hardware?
Today I slotted a "new" Quadro FX 4500 in Super G5 and did some benchmarking with Quake 3, Quake 4, Doom 3, UT2004, and Prey.
Here's the Doom 3 result. Keep in mind that, unlike the PC version, Doom3 for Mac only uses a single core. Plus, it's one of the worst ports ever. Aspyr didn't even *try* to optimize this game for PowerPC. To get an idea of just how sloppy it is, consider this: Quake 4 actually runs at a higher frame rate on this machine!
PowerMac G5 Quad: 2x dual-core PowerPC 970MPs at 2.5GHz, 16 GB DDR2-533, Quadro FX 4500 PCIe, OS X 10.5.8
1024x768 Ultra:
The G5 is nearly three times faster than the G4, which at 1.5GHz w/ a 7800GS AGP, only manages 27 fps!
P6 chip. Triple the speed of the Pentium.
