I have briefly used an FX5900 and it ran FEAR craptastically, but it came with one of those good looking Zalman VGA coolers so I don't know how loud or silent the stock cooling solutions are.

I'd say, match it with teh almighty dragon orb and a vast array of older SCSI drives and you should be set for a real deafening retro computer experience 😁
