I'm messing around with my Kyro II right now, and I found an archived page that lists a bunch of interesting-sounding PowerVR tech demos. Unfortunately, none of the actual demos are archived. Does anybody have these files?

Here are the first few demos for search purposes:

Soft Shadow (D3DSoftShadow.zip, OGLSoftShadow.zip)
Shadow Land (D3DShadowLand.zip)
ITC, Internal True Color (D3DITC.zip)
Fire (D3DFire.zip)
Blend (D3DBlend.zip, OGLBlend.zip)
Scanner (D3DScanner.zip, OGLScanner.zip)

I have a boxed Hercules Prophet KYRO card here somewhere. Pretty sure I remember looking at the demo's from the Driver CD at one point. I'll try and find it for you.

Few days ago I've reviewed my CDROM collection and I found quite a lot Kyro II tech demos. If you're interested I can upload it somewhere.
If I remember correctly these were downloaded from PoverVR page you've mentioned.

Please do! 😁 Mediafire works good, or you can upload directly to the forum as attachment

Uploaded to my Dropbox. Please check if files can be downloaded.

I grabbed them all without an issue (didn't download anything from drivers/)

There's still some missing demos though, like the particle demo (meant to demonstrate "internal true colour" in 16bpp to show it doesn't have overdraw dithering ugliness), and the fire demo which IIRC was showing off creative use of EMBM techniques to animate a fire (combine a bump that scrolls with an additive blob on an inverse sphere)

Also for historicalness here's 1.0 of D3DFortune (Nov 2000). The main difference here is the textures are much lower res and the cards are simpler

Unfortunatelly It's all I can find 🙁
Quite possible that visual aspects were more important to me, than 'how it can be done', so rest of the demos didn't survived even if I downloaded them.

Perhaps whoever contributed the PowerVR PowerSGL SDK for VOGONSDrivers can see about acquiring these tech demos.

these aren't official demos, but: http://rainwarrior.ca/dragon/effects.html

the shadow one is said to be for kyro ii and indeed doesn't seem to work correctly on current nvidia hardware at least.

edit: tested the shadow demo on my kyro ii and for some reason it doesn't display the shadows at all...
