The first ti200 card that blew 2 caps i got fixed and i wanted to test it. So i put it in a p3-550mhz/Asus P2B system and loaded the same 7.76 driver for a nice comparison!

This system scored 4532 points so that means the k6-3+ scores are very quick! (and the gf3 ti200 is alive!)

My k6 benching stopped as i can not create a faster setup than with my p5a-b, and i'm still not willing to beat up my k6-3+ cpu for some extra points.

I gave it a go again last night. Was nice and stable 5054!!
It has heat problems on the cpu so it is unstable.
But last night I had an aircon blowing into it. It was at a girl! Who will ever think a girl will find this interesting!

Some nice scores for via boards in that link!

I got 3 more ss7 boards from a scrapper today, hope at least one is still working.... 2 are Via boards and one is an Ali. The top boards from your link are 2mb Via boards, mine are 1mb cache.
Will test soon but these boards are missing bios chips so i first need to download the bios files and hotflash them 😎

Fingers crossed....

Ali board was toast...

One Via board (DFi baby AT) was working straight away, the other one needed 2 new caps and is installing win98se as we speak 😎
It is an ENMIC 5vmx and i never ever heard of that one before. We will see how she goes, at least it has a 112mhz fsb setting. I was surprised to find a bios file relatively easy!

The enmic is a nice board it seems.... It did not support the plus cpu's so i started searching: found out it is exactly the same board as the Epox mvp3g2! Now, that was a nice surprise as i always wanted an Epox version of a ss7.

Tomorrow i will try and flash it again, this time with an Epox bios.....should be fun and i think it will work no problem.

Works perfectly fine with the Epox bios ( and the mobiles now) 😎

Very easy board to work with: fsb selection with only one jumber, multiplier with only one jumper and cpu voltage with dipswitches, i like it.
And the best part: fsb 100mhz up to 130mhz simply in bios! I set the jumper at 100fsb but can change it also in bios. I love my Asus boards but this is nice!

But still..... NOT faster as my p5a-b. Will fine tune this one some more but for now it reaches the same speeds but not the same scores as the Asus, it is off by a few percent.

That is awesome that it works! Seems like P5A-B is a good motherboard.
But we need to find the sweet spot on VIA motherboards.
Wish I could help but I can not find any VIA motherboards 🙁

Well p5a and p5a-b have always been top contenders and i think the Epox and Aopen board are among the favorites when it comes to Via boards.

The only 2 boards that COULD be even faster are the Fic Va-503+ and the Gigabyte GA-5AX. I have never seen the Fic board here in NL and i had that Gigabyte board but unfortunately it came DOA.

When you read about ss7 and the k6+ cpu's on the net people always claim that disabling the onboard cache does not give a big hit and upping the fsb without onboard cache is the way to go..
But when i do that performance simply is lower. When i compare 100fsb with cache it performs better than 120+ fsb without cache.

Maybe this is more true for the k6-3+? My k6-2+ takes a performance hit, that's for sure.

120x5.5 is fast! But my system is super unstable with 660Mhz 🙁 I am still waiting for a cpu cooler before I can test new grounds.
WPcredit will help but info is little for P5A/B
Yes the Va-503+ could be faster.
But the GA5AX is slow!! Its good for overclocking though.

120 is far from stable. And because it is slower there is no use.

5,5x110 is by far the best setting on any board to use stable and is fast, beyond that it is pretty tricky to even get one benchmark out of it.
I don't even think heat is a real issue. I have used a huge heatpipe cpu cooler and extra fans directed at the chipset and cache and it didn't make any difference.

Even extra cpu voltage doesn't do much. I think it would 've been nice if there were 1mhz steps for the fsb or a little higher multiplier for the cpu.

Sucks that you struggle with 115x5.5
I am 3DMARK stable on my GA5AX and P5A-B Cache enabled 115x5.5
And for me If my cooling is not good then 115x5.5 is not stable.
And remember 110 is 112 on the Asus 😀

Another weekend, so another small visit at the recycler.....look what i found! 😎 😎 😎

It's not the GA-5AX but it comes very close as it's the baby brother version, unbelieveable that i find this now. As you can see from the photo they ''delidded'' the socket so i have to take that top from another board and add a bios chip (again) as that is also missing. Hope it works, it looks ok.....

I got some very nice luck lately, that's for sure! Board works perfectly fine and is also a nice performer. Will give it a clean windows install and give it a go with the k6-2+.
Don't know about the extra devider: can't find anything in the bios about it.
