In 2004, still on shoestring budget of a HS junior I was piecing together my 2nd gaming rig. For my money, which was close to zero I was looking at getting a dual-GPU Voodoo 5 5500, GeForce 2 or 3... Both of those ran about $30-40 on eBay. GeForce 3 was already last-gen and Voodoo 5 5500 although looking impressive would have no future support. Fortunately for me I scored a Radeon 8500LE 128MB for $20, complete with a Half-life + CS bundle (which I later registered on Steam as HL Gold Pack with a bunch of other HL-based games). Probably the best $20 I ever spent, just in time for release of Doom 3, which although we don't remember very kindly was impressive at the time.
Back then eBay was full of all of those Voodoo and early GeForce cards, and I was like "meh". These things are like collectible now.
