Which one is better for Windows XP era games (with a 1600x1200 resolution)? Radeon HD 3650 has 512mb memory and GeForce 7600 GS has 256mb.

Is the HD 3650 really that much faster than the 7600GS? http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-G … 0/m11979vsm7982
http://www.game-debate.com/gpu/index.php?gid= … eon%20HD%203650

And the computer specs that I need a graphics card for:

Intel Pentium 4 HT 3.0GHz Prescott
2gb RAM
Gigabyte GA-8SGXL
Radeon 9800 Pro (broken)
2x 40gb Seagate
Nexus NX-5000
Windows XP Professional SP3

Sorry for my really bad english!

Yes, the 3650 is going to be faster.

The 512MB is going to be a lot better for the higher resolution as well.

In general :
3650 will be much faster in newer games (like Crysis) - true.
7600 GS could be faster in older ones (DX7).
Keeping in mind, you have to compare AGP cards NOT PCIe.

Bonus questions :
Q1 : Are they both of the GDDR3 variety ?
Q2 : Which games you want to play on them ?

If you get DDR2 VRAM versions, I would say it doesn't matter.
But, Radeon has full video acceleration so I would go for it.
If you get GDDR3 7600 gs, you can OC it to 7600 GT level.

No it wont, the 3650 is really a rebranded HD2600 Pro, which is about the same speed as an 8500GT, and they both preform similar to a 6600GT

@up It depends on actual models of cards he can get.
There are simply too many options named hd 3650 and 7600 gs.
Can 7600 GS DDR3 crush 3650 DDR2 in tests ?
Sure.
Can 3650 DDR3 crush 7600 GS DDR2 in tests ?
100% yes.
(AGP)

So without actual card models, you can't really say one is faster than the other.

1 : DDR2
2 : DOOM 3, GTA SA, VC, III, Half-Life 2, Unreal II, UT2004 etc...

So both are DDR2 and :
7600 GS = 400/700MHz (source : LINK)
HD 3650 = 725/800MHz (source : LINK)
I would say go for HD 3650 (7600 GS is simply clocked too slow to compete).
BUT do it ONLY if it has 128-bit VRAM bus.
On Club3D website, "CGA-3652A" has 64-bit memory : LINK
Ask seller if he has 128-bit version (somehow) and if it's 64-bit, go for 7600 GS as faster memory is more usefull in older games than higher VRAM capacity.

How does a X1950 Pro compare to those two?

It will probably be way faster than both, specially in older games... and it will also use 2-3 times more electricity 🤣 . Anyway, it will be severely bottlenecked by your CPU, the 7600 is probably better balanced with the rest of your system and the 3650 is the best option overall.

x1950 Pro will be better in everything.
Here are some PGA 478 numbers for you :

No 7600 GS, but 7900 GS should do the trick I think (it's 20PS/7VS version btw.) 😀
Oh, and PGA 478 numbers are done on Pentium 4 EE 3,2GHz @ 3,53GHz :

While LGA 775 ones were done on highly OC'ed Pentium Dual-Core E5800.
And yes, those are AGP ONLY.
