Hello! This is my first post on this forum, but I've been lurking quite a bit.

I recently bought an ATI Mach 32 2MB VRAM VLB card to upgrade the Trident 9440 1MB VLB card in my PC. The problem is when the card is installed, the computer refuses to boot. The speaker beeps 8 times and the system seems to halt after. I get no video on the screen. The computer gives the same 8 beep code when no video card is installed. Also, the main mach32 chip on the card does warm up so it is getting power.

There are no other VLB cards in the system for it to conflict with.

There are 3 jumpers labeled IRQ2, IRQ3, and IRQ5. I have tried every combination of jumpers possible and there is no change. Here's some pictures of the card: http://imgur.com/a/6UPb8

Here are my system specs:
AOpen VI15G with 256K cache
Intel i486DX2-66
32MB RAM (2x16MB sticks)
Sound Blaster CT4170
Prime 3B Multi IO with 2nd serial port disabled
2GB sandisk CF card with Windows 98 SE and 1GB sandisk CF card with FreeDOS

Thank you for any input!

Is the video BIOS missing?

I don't know why I did not notice that but it looks like it is missing! It was also missing the jumpers for the irq pins. Luckily I have some spare eprom chips lying around.

Now to find a working vbios...
