I'm having a bit of trouble confirming some information.

From what I can find , do only cards from the HD 3000 series and higher support more than 2 cards in crossfire? I actually cannot find any instance of someone running anything in the 2000 series or x series with more than two cards.

I suppose it would make sense seeing as the 3850 x2 and 3870 x2 were the first high end dual gpu cards from ati that would have required crossfire x in order to add another card.

I think 4way Crossfire was first revealed with the 790FX chipset and that was late 2007, so it sounds about right, 3850 and 3870 are probably the first cards to support this feature.
