Are there any? Asking for a friend.

...okay, fine, totally asking for myself. 😜 I imagine there are some early AGP cards out there but nothing in my accumulation seems to have both things. Anyone seen one?

Quadro2 Pro:

I don't know much about the "VESA Feature Connector", but that 26pin connector matches other cards I have so I'm guessing that's what it is.
On the Geforce2 Ultra those pads are present but unpopulated, same with the DVI port.

Looks like it might also be present on some Geforce3s.

but I could be misinterpreting what that header is.

^^ Yeah that's probably it. For some reason MANY cards include this header without bothering to mark what it is.

I found this browing Ebay - Matrox Millennium G550:

And interestingly, some ATI Rage cards used in PowerMac G4s have an unpopulated pinheader for the VESA connector and an ADC port, which AFAIK outputs DVI signals with a few extra pins added on to carry power. I wonder if it's possible to flash one of these to a generic PC firmware?

... I do have a specific use for this info, I'm not just collecting trivia. In case you guys were wondering. 😜

VFX1 I bet 😀.

Been down that route, I ended up with a dedicated P233MMX and Matrox Millenium II. A lot of the cards with VESA feature connectors, actually didn't work (i.e the 'feature' part), I found it was mainly the older ones. This was like 15 years ago when I was last looking though.

^^ Yeah it's for my VFX1 (there's a poorly-named thread in System Specs about it.) I tried a Voodoo Banshee which unfortunately didn't work, then a Rage IIC which works great, but has VGA only. I think I could do something really interesting if I had DVI.

Last one for the evening, a freaking Number Nine card, apparently out of some IBM NetVista thing. And here I thought Number Nine ended in the 386/486 days. You start looking for weird stuff and ALL the old names come out of the woodwork. 😜

^^ Any guesses what chipset this is? It looks Nvidia-y to me.

Literally, it was in a box of old junk in my office.

Anyone know what this is exactly? These are the only part numbers I can find on the card. Internet scuttlebut disagrees on whether it's a Quadro, Geforce 3 or GF2 GTS.

At least the heat sinks are a nice, pretty colour.

Unfortunately internet scuttlebut also says it likely won't work with the VFX1, and personal experience says it almost certainly won't work on my Asus P2L97-S. I guess I'll give it a try if I either do the voltage mod or upgrade to a BX board.

The Panel Link chip make me think it's a Quadro, but I also saw a review where it's stated that the GF2 Ultra also uses an external TMDS. Normally the GeForce version uses the internal TMDS.

I have a GF2 Ultra and an early GF3, but no Quadro.
The board layout matches my GF2 Ultra, but mine doesn't have that "Silicon Image" chip populated or the nearby pins. It appears to be the same PCB though.
The board layout on my GF3 is different, though it does have a Conexant chip at that location. That card has SVideo out so that's probably what that was for.

The part number labels on the edge of your card aren't present on either of mine.
So I don't have a definite answer but the PCB layout was definitely used with GF2/Quadro2 cards, and I think Quadro2 is the most likely given the populated components.

My GF3 is a very early card (2000 date codes, prerelease BIOS) so if even that one has a different PCB then I'm in doubt as to whether the GF2 PCB was ever used with any GF3s.

Thanks for that! I actually just tested it for the other thread; Linux reports it as a Quadro 2. So I guess that's answered. 😀
Neat looking card, shame it's only 16MB. I did find one report of a GF2 MX working with the VFX1 so maybe there's some hope for this one.
