Hello, I have an old Acer Anyware K386s that seems to work well, but in some games, like commander keen, horizontal scroll makes the screen "jumpy", very weird problem.

Also, it seems to be that the video card always compensate the image, becuase in 320x200 games it adds 40 pixels below to make it 320x240, and that is in the internal screen as well as in an external CRT or LCD monitor, it looks weird.

I think the video card is a Cirrus Logic 6420, and always locked to the screen's 640x480, also the colours are very saturated.

If anyone knows something helpful, it would be very good. Thanks.

P.D: One neat feature is that the 16 colors are represented as 16 grays on the internal LCD, I don't think that's very common on pre-color laptops and makes windows look very well.

It probably adds 40 pixels so when doubled you get a nice 640x480 resolution, probably the native resolution of the laptop. I hope the patches work, because it's also possible it forces 60Hz for the internal LCD, which can cause timing issues.

Hi!
I bought few years ago the same laptop Acer k386s but my original PSU is damaged - someone desolder few capacitors from PCB and I don't know their value. Maybe someone have service manual or schematics for this model (or for any of Anyware series if exist), or can do a pictures of PCB ? (this PSU has 4pin din plug).
Thanks
Chris
