I recently picked up an old VLB card at a local used electronics store. I want to upgrade the RAM from 1MB to 2MB with the two DRAM slots. I tried installing one 512K DRAM module from the integrated CL chip into the VLB card but it doesn't show up in the BIOS or speedsys. Is this the wrong type of memory to use or does the pair need to be installed for it to be recognized? Thanks for any help, pictures below.

Yes, both sockets form a single memory bank.
