hi all

not sure where this would go in this form

looking for pc switchbox to share one monitor and keyboard and mouse input between my "modern" and "vintage" rigs cause i will moving soon and is for space saving

wanted use the 4:3 lcd montior from modern setup below for both rigs

modern

dual monitor setup already - one widescreen and one 4:3 lcd monitor using dvi adapters on sli setup
using usb wireless mouse and wired keyboard

vintage

use it own monitor at moment
s3 gaphics card with 3dfx voodoo1 card - using vga
has AT Keyboard (but i use a AT to PS2 adapter )
has a serial mouse

Either
a. get a switch box and make sure it has good vga quality, by default it won't, can't recommend a particular model though
b. have or get a monitor that has both dvi and vga inputs and a way to switch between them through an in-display menu or so
c. route the old vga through a low latency capture card, not too cheap depending on your requirements

You'd get the switch box anyway for mouse and keyboard, but might be better to handle the video some other way.

Good luck buddy. I have two switch boxes, neither used for video. The cheap one freezes the mouse and keyboard when my fridge turns off. The other one has translation from ps2 to serial which is pretty handy.
