Hello, fellow VOGONS members! This is my first topic, and surely not the last. If I do anything stupid, just let me know. 😀

Okay, anyhow, time to get down to business.

As said in this topic's title, I have a 3dfx Voodoo3 3000 graphics card that I bought from eBay some time ago, which thankfully works. However, the card came with the main screw for the bracket on the card missing. I have tried a couple screws I had on me, but none of them work.

To understand what I am talking about, here are some pictures of that sweet Voodoo of mine (hosted on my Imgur account):

If someone could please tell me the exact type, make, model, version, etc. of screw I am missing that would solve this small problem of mine. Thanks in advance!

It WORKS! That was just what I was looking for!

I went down to my local True Value Hardware store, and bought two (why not?) of those screws with their respective nuts (a dollar or two total), came back to my house, took my Voodoo3 out of my PC and, wha-la! on they went:

It's funny. I did not have a flat-head screwdriver, so I just used this metal prying tool I had (https://i.imgur.com/5IgJmrZ.jpg). 😀

Thank you SSTV2! You have been a great help!

Before I consider this topic "closed", though, I would like to ask one more thing of you, if I may: How did you find this information out?

I thought that screw would be a typical M3, but I had a dead V3 laying in one of my drawers so i had to make sure... removed the screw and noticed that its thread looked like a miniature version of a 6-32 (standard computer case screw) and nothing like M3, then i removed VGA connector hex screw and compared them, and well, finding info about "standoff" hex screws wasn't too difficult 😀

By the way, old WD hard drives use same thread and lenght screws to hold controller board/cover, but are torx type.

Ah, the old tried-and-true trial-and-error method of finding answers, I see. 😀

And neat fact regarding old WD hard drives.

Again, thank you so much! Getting that bracket nice and secure on my Voodoo3 makes connecting my V7 4:3 LCD monitor to it easier, or should I say nicer (?) (since I don't have to worry about the bracket flexing a bit).
