Is the AcuMOS AVGA1 (Pre-Cirrus) a good card for DOS gaming?

Rather cheap card I bought for my 486 PC. Just curious on the resolutions it supports, how many colours, how it performs, etc.

well, it's just a standard VGA card, with just 640x480x16 colors and no acceleration whatsoever
his performance is unknown to me, but just for you to know, i have a 386sx 25 laptop, which has a cirrus logic 6428, which is based in the Acumos cards, just newer and it's just a simple standard vga card, his performance is not so good, is slower than the GD5420 card

in the link above there are benchmarks, see in every category you want, the performance is good for an early VGA card clone but still very poor.

You can get anything a lot better than that card, even if you have a 486SX
With more than 15 computers, my room looks like a computer store
I believe that I like to write a lot of irrelevant content in my posts

Really slow vga that handicaps the system... If you only have isa slots take a look some higher end 542x cards or a WD90C3x based one... A fast vga card can make a huge difference
