Another nice thing about voodoo 3 is that the best voodoo 3 you can get was the most commonly available card. The compaq v3500 OEM board that is 183mhz. It is the same GPU as the 3500 TV card but without the TV tuner. There is no use for the TV tuner in 2018 so yea. These cards also outperform v2 SLI so its basically the best all around 3dfx card imo.

Compaq V3500s may have been so at one time... but you will find more Voodoo 5s for sale than Compaq V3s these days. According to some benchmarkers around here, though, it seems like the Voodoo 2000s usually have the same overclocking abilities as the 3500s while the 3000s tend to be more limited.

That is if someone want to have all possible 3Dfx models and versions of them, is way easier just to stick, with whatever you can find, as exotic things are really hard to get, but some times miracles happen...
No matter how will V2 SLI perform, they are still x2 cards and total of 6 3Dfx chips to one card and one Avenger chip, so the Voodoo 3 will win every time..

From what I've read here a Voodoo 2 can be coerced through patches or other means to run many Voodoo 1 games but I would say that if you already have a Voodoo 3 it's probably better to just get a Voodoo 1 to shore up compatibility. I'm not sure that there are any 'native' V2 games that can't be made to work properly on a Voodoo 3.

Well I do know of one of those - Montezuma's Return!.

Looks like a cool game. So this is made for a Voodoo 2 (not V1 and therefore not needing tweaks) that does not work on a Voodoo 3?

Voodoo Rush is one of the better 3Dfx cards, first 2D/3D in one, also the size of the card is like Voodoo 5500 and i like that...

The hate is a little exaggerated, as the 8MB Rush didn't compare that much worse than say the Banshee did in its time. Worked great for a lot of Glide/D3D stuff.

True... It's in my Top5... along with S3 Virge, Verité, NV1 and some 2MB 'ViewTop' display adaptor (VESA compatible) I had... all loosing out to the 2MB 'ViewTop' display adaptor (VESA compatible)... in this league, I don't think there is a better 3dfx?

It lost a bit compared to the Voodoo Graphics that was leading the market, in performance and compatibility, but you could've done worse with a 3DLabs Permedia 2 or something.
