I'm looking for a PCI video card to use with an EPOX MVP4A Socket 7 motherboard that has no AGP slot.
Motherboard is something like this one
http://www.motherboard.cz/mb/epox/EP-MVP4A.htm
only mine has colored plastic on the parallel port instead of black.

I noticed several TNT2 M64 PCI video cards on eBay, but they seem to either be described as made for Dell computers, or they look exactly like the ones that are described as being made for Dell computers.

Would these "made for Dell" cards work with a computer that's not a Dell?
How different are they from non-Dell versions of the TNT2 M64?
Would they work with drivers like these
http://www.vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?file … 077&menustate=0
or would they need specific "Dell version" drivers?

Dell is no way near to Apple level of hardware shenanigans, so they will work.

I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.

At least when it comes to video cards. The same was not true around this time regarding power supply/motherboard pinouts. There they were up to exactly the same as Apple, with a connector that looked ATX but fried everything if you connected it to regular ATX.

Not relevant in this specific case, but as a generic statement it's dangerous.

Sorry, I don't have an mvp3, and I've only just started working with the MVP4A.
So no benchmarks to compare.

Should fit on anyting, PCI is a standard for a reason.
Got a Medion Geforce 3 that happily runs on a CUSL2.

If the price is right, there is nothing wrong with buying one and trying. If it doesn't work, there is a certain flair to build a perioid correct Dell machine.
