1) On the 3dfx Voodoo3 card, specifically the 2000 PCI model, what is the name of its chipset? (On the Voodoo1 card for instance, Wikipedia tells me it's called the Voodoo chipset.)

2) What are the 2 rows of pins for? A feature connector, of sorts?

3) I remember the V3 2000 AGP card was a good overclocker. Can exactly the same be said for the PCI version?

Thanks a lot for any info.

Never tried myself, but haven't heard otherwise... so yes?

3) yes, but it depends a bit on the ram chips. However, a lot of v3 2k cards have 6ns ram chips which is the same as on the v3 3k so they will reach 166mhz+ without a problem, probably 183mhz as well.

Others came with the usual 7ns chips so they will be a bit limited but can sometimes still reach the 3k speeds. Using an active cooler is must! Better heatsink is also not a bad idea...

Pci vs agp does not a difference in overclocking potential with the v3.

Thanks for the info! 😀

I checked my V3 2K card, and its RAM chips are labelled -6, so I guess that's 60NS? Also, would that be SG-RAM, and if so, does the V3 3K card have SG-RAM too?

BTW, I don't know if this relevant, or important, but this card's BIOS chip has a label on it that reads 2.15.06.
