Can anyone tell me a little bit about this card please? (The Elsa Winner 1000 Pro VLB video / graphics card.) It has 2MB, so does that mean that its memory (or is that data?) path is 64-bit, or is that not necessarily the case?

2) There's an S3 branded chip in it that says SDAC. Is that its RAMDac, and if so, does it have a certain "bit depth"

3) There is a little blue "switch box" on the card, with little white switches. One setting written on the PCB says: Open = 1st board BIOS. What does that mean?

4) There is a 25 pin connector on it. Is that a feature connector, and if so, what's it for exactly?

5) The card uses the S3 Vision868 86C868-P chipset. Is this good for both DOS and Windows?

1. yes it does
2. yes. No idea about bit depth
3. you can have more of these cards installed. If you select 1st board BIOS, that would be the main card
4. MPEG addon daughterboard

So, just going back to question 1 please, regarding the 64-bit issue, would this 2MB card have a 64-bit wide data bus, or is it a 64-bit wide memory bus? Or both??

S3 864 should be 64-bit internally, and should also have a 64-bit path to memory unless only 1MB is installed.

The VESA Feature Connector could also be used for a TV Tuner or other capture card. In this case, the Vision868 has an MPEG decoder built-in, which would probably negate the need for a separate one.

Not quite full MPEG. More like scaling and Yuv to RGB conversion.

Thank you for the correction. Unfortunately, I've only got 864 and 964 cards, so I haven't been able to play with that feature!
