I see in the Vogons wiki for the 3dfx Banshee that:

Its 2D acceleration was very capable. It rivaled the fastest 2D cores from Matrox, Nvidia, and ATI, consisting of a 128-bit GUI engine and a 128-bit VESA VBE 3.0 VGA core.

IS the same true for the voodoo3 2000 PCI card? Thanks a lot for any information.

I recently read that the 2Dcores are identical from banshee up to voodoo5.
