Showing Off CRT Monitor I Got Today

Just WOW is what I have to say about this 17 inch monitor because of the push to select buttons for the adjustments and the layout its definitely going to be a keeper, here is some nerd porn for you of it.

I've never had a monitor with the "R, G/SYNC, B, H/HV, V" outputs and what is the "BNC Input Voltage" for? Does anyone have a manual for this monitor I cant find one with google.

Probably a 0.31 pitch delta tube with H-range probably not more than 48kHz.
The 1V/0.7V switch sets the reference level for "full on", Actually I forgot by now what was the correct setting for PCs :) Just try it out.

What would happen if I go pushing in and out the button for BNC Input Voltage while its on with a game displayed would any damage occur? I also got with this monitor a Sound Blaster AWE32 CT3670 and my MPU-IPC-T card and BOB arrived in the mail so all in all ive been having a good week.

Wow, looks very high tech for 1992.

I'm a sucker for CRTs. :)

Wow, cool -- does this do both 15kHz TV standard RGB, *and* PC 31kHz+? That would be handy.

I have no idea SirNickity if I could find a manual I'd be able to tell you does anyone have one? Im looking in to buying a VGA to BNC cable with 5 BNC's this is my first time going this route so is there any cable to stay away from or recommendations?

Sorry if this sounds weird but this is just a vga monitor. Bnc is there as a connection because some professional equipment used that instead of the classic HD15 connector we all know. You won't gain anything using the bnc inputs - unless your plan is to connect 2 video sources on 1 monitor.

The real benefit to BNC on a monitor for nerds like us... retro computers that have 15kHz 480i or 576i RGB output (won't work with most PC monitors), or old game consoles that have RGB out like SNES, PSX / PS2, Genesis / MD, etc..

I’ve been looking for an old Gateway dimension monitor to mod as a vintage gaming crt for a while

Too bad, back in the day my school junked a dozen of them at that point I saw no value in them

Well I am not nostalgic about getting a 1980s Sony CPD-1402 (my first VGA monitor) back again with its poor 38kHz limit.

But what I want is that sharp display in all resolutions, together with the brilliance that only CRT can give.
Even the Dell 2007FPb which I initally intended to use for retro gaming is dissatisfying because of interpolating, even though it is considered one of the best LCDs to use with retro computers.

Do I really want back the eye pain from the past?
Flickering monitors with coarse .31mm pitch are a sore, especially when they are like ugly spheres protruding from a beige case.

So I bought a Sony CPD-E220E instead, 85kHz 17" 0.24mm pitch FD trinitron monitor, manufactured Dec. 2000.
It can run all gaming-relevant video modes with 100Hz or more. Already looking forward when it arrives!

(17" because sadly 17" is the biggest easily and cheaply shippable size and all bigger ones appear as pick-up only at distant locations :( )

I'll post some pics later im just a bit busy with another PC Mr_Blastman, I ended up buying a cheap BNC cable by chance when I was at a shop getting motherboard stand offs so I had to buy it just to see what it would be like as I have to try it at least once for bragging rights and to test the monitor

I might be mis-remembering this but a card I owned in the early 90s - the Number Nine GXiTC, actually shipped with a DSub to BNC cable and I'm sure they said it gave better image quality than a standard cable. Probably marketing hype but luckily my Iiyama (or maybe Taxan?) monitor had BNC connectors - card and monitor now long gone but I still have the cable!

@GabrielKnight123, nice monitor BTW
