I own a HP Thin client T5730: https://www.parkytowers.me.uk/thin/hp/t5730/

I want to install Windows 98 on it for some retro gaming, this has a ATI Radeon X1250 GPU, but i am unable to find the appropriate driver.

Also need the USB, Audio, Netwotk and SMB driver. There is an ATI Chipset on this one. I think most of that are in the ATI-Chipset integrated.

/Edit Audio is ALC262.

If you could find the chipset for this, then perhaps you could be able to locate the drivers. Unfortunately, as far as I know, the last ATi GPU series to be supported under Win9x was the R400 based cards such as X700/X800 and so on. Starting from X1xxx they moved away from Win9x, so unless there is a modded driver somewhere or some way to force older drivers to pick the card up, you're out of luck. There is a chance the latter will work, as X1250 is probably based off of something older than the rest of the X1xxx line of cards.

According to techpowerup the X1250 is based on the R400, so maybe we could use a X800 driver. I read that someone has done this.

Running XP on 1 Ghz could be a little slow i thing. Maybe Sp1 would work good.

Looks like the system uses the AMD 690G chipset which I don't think ever got support for Win98SE. Looks like this one will be a tough nut to crack: https://msfn.org/board/topic/158640-compatibl … -for-ati-x1250/
