I got my hands on HP T5720 Thin Client and I would like to turn it into Win98 gaming machine, but that bloody integrated SiS Mirage (741GX) just doesn't want to cooperate 😀 Some games run fine, for example Insane, Rollcage 2 and Unreal Tournament, but some hang after few seconds of playing - Quake 3 and Need for Speed Porsche to be specific. Power is there, until they freeze, they run OK, but stability / compatibility seems to be a problem. It's not matter of cooling (tested) and I've tried several versions of graphics drivers, nothing helped. 3D Mark 2000 runs without troubles (score 3035), 3D Mark 2001SE freezes.

Ideas? Any insight is welcomed 😉

which drivers are you using out of interest?

I tried https://www.philscomputerlab.com/uploads/3/7/ … __graphics_.zip from https://www.philscomputerlab.com/hp-t5720.html - but I'm getting a protection fault on startup when windows is loading.

Edit: I uninstalled them, rebooted, usb stopped working 😕 , reinstalled generic 98 usb support (nusb36e.exe), rebooted, SiS display adapter got recognised and now back in business.

le sigh though: one of my favorite dos games freezes on this machine in-game after jumping: https://archive.org/details/JasonStorminSpaceChase_1020 😢
