Hi all,

There is this damaged Voodoo 2 card I am thinking about getting, it received some hard knocks damaging some legs of one of the chips, see photo attached. I can see one bad leg at the bottom, two at the top and obviously those on the left. How do you suggest to repair such damage? What tools, what skill level, what procedure?

I have fixed a few 3dfx cards and other chips that had this problem. The best way for me is to do it with a needle and a magnifier (I use a magnifier app on my smartphone now, works great!)

BUT... be very slow and gentle, they can break loose easily and soldering is a pain (but can be done). In THIS case I would pass as the damage on the left seems a bit rough and too much to simply straighten.

I have done few of these and with my tools by far the easies method is to pull the chip off from the board, straighten/clean legs while the chip is off and then put it back.
