Hi all,
Does anyone have a copy of the Video 7 EGA graphics card driver disk for MSDOS? I've managed to find the Video 7 VGA disk but the .com are not really compatible with my card.
Thanks,
Rob

Could you post a model number and/or pics of the card? Also, what do you need the driver disk for? Usually EGA and VGA cards will run as is under DOS.

Are you talking about this card here, which minuszerodegrees hosts a manual for? (Warning: large PDF)

Are you having issues running some programs? Most programs should run just fine in EGA mode without needing any sort of driver at all.

Found this https://stason.org/TULARC/pc/graphics-cards/U … EGA-DELUXE.html

The driver disk for the EGA card is also at minuszerodegrees: http://minuszerodegrees.net/manuals.htm#Video_Seven (as "VEGA Deluxe - Utility Disk - version 2.02")

That's for the VEGA Deluxe. Might not fit OPs card though. But I guess it won't hurt either.

Good call, I see now that I have the Deluxe version (which works with said utilities disk and whose hardware entry was posted by Caluser2000 earlier); the non-Deluxe version is here: https://stason.org/TULARC/pc/graphics-cards/U … V7-VEGA-EG.html

Sorry about lack of replying. I've downloaded the utility disk and it works with my card. I can now run the vega.com. and it recognises my card. I'm using a 5160 and a 5153 monitor. Im having problems getting 16 colours on Legacy of the Ancients. It seems to display only 4 colours. As the 5153 monitor can display 16 colours 640x200 and most games that we're EGA compatible use that resolution. There seems to be only a handful of EGA games that used the real EGA mode 640x350, which you need the 5154 monitor for. The 5153 monitor can't handle the 640x350 resolution.

Strange. The manual says "if the game doesn't look right in EGA or VGA mode, put your card into CGA mode." Which is what I did with the vega.com CGA:ON, but still looks CGA. 🤣 Goes sits just this game that does not like my setup.
