I've seen several posts of people running a voodoo pci card and a more contemporary agp card in the same machine and switching inputs on the monitor, including PhilsComputerLab but I've googled for hours and can find no information on how to get this to work. I never had the money/hardware back in the day to try something like this, and I think most of the posts on the net about it are long gone.

I have a Voodoo5500 PCI card and a Gainward Ti4800SE AGP card in my XP machine that I would like to use for retro gaming. The machine boots fine, but I can't seem to use the 5500 at all when switching inputs. Any help or tips would be appreciated.

Well, if it is a Glide game, it should switch automatically.

If you want to boot with the PCI card active instead of the AGP card, then switch the video slot boot priority in the motherboard BIOS.
