Windows detects my Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2070SB as a Generic PnP monitor(I tried looking for drivers in windows list, and havent found anything) and I can't select anything higher than 1024x768 even through the monitor can output 2k res.

1 - see attachment for official 2070SB driver

2 - download CRU from https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Cus … ion-Utility-CRU to add custom (higher/faster) resolution modes by overriding the monitor EDID.

I would think it works like this:

- unzip the EXE into some folder
- in control panel find your monitor and click update driver or something
- then click select driver or something
- then click have disk
- then select the folder from the unpacked EXE

have you tried it like that?

What is your GPU by the way?

How is your monitor connected? I'm not that firm on Win10 but can't you create/force custom resolutions and refresh rates in the GPU driver utility?

Also if you are somewhat of an advanced user this might help you override the EDID manually:

The GPU driver method should be used only as a last resort though. Modifying EDID (somehow, for example with CRU) is the most native/compatible way.

Thanks for the link, I might need to try that method for something else I am having issues with. Here is also an useful app to go with your link: https://www.entechtaiwan.com/util/moninfo.shtm

Download that moninfo utility I linked above and copy-paste all of the reported "Asset Information" for your monitor (which should be already pre-selected in "Display IDs" column) here.

It would be great to know the exact error message you get when installing that INF driver setup file.

What exact adapter do you have?

Are you using BNC or regular VGA cable for this? If BNC, try VGA because BNC is not wired for EDID transfer.

I am using Axagon DP to VGA adapter with shielded VGA cable.

When installing inf it told me that They cannot add the inf because it might be for 32bit version only, also the inf that i got from the moninfo Iam unable to use since it's not digitally signed...

It will be a limitation of the adapter you are using, overriding the edid won't enable it to handle higher resolutions.

The chip that handles DAC can do 270Mhz which is 1600x1200@95Hz at minimum.

Video bandwidth.......... 420MHz

<- that is the important line from your report. 420MHz is great and plenty - but will be bottlenecked by the DP-VGA adapter (you have said it has a 270MHz limit).

I have modified the original INF file to support 64-bit systems now, you will find it attached. This makes the driver "unsigned" so you will need to disable the signature enforcement during the driver installation. Instructions are below:

#1:
Run this command in elevated "cmd" with Administrator rights to ALLOW installation of unsigned drivers:
bcdedit /set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS & bcdedit /set testsigning on
#2:
RESTART PC
#3:
INSTALL THE DRIVER via control panel using the "HAVE DISK" method
#4:
Run this command in elevated "cmd" with Administrator rights to BLOCK installation of unsigned drivers (=back to the original state):
bcdedit /set loadoptions DENABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS & bcdedit /set testsigning off
#5:
RESTART PC

Note that I have no good way of testing it on my end so let me know if there will be an issue with installing it 🤣
I believe Windows has built-in drivers for some 17" Mitsubushi CRTs and the like but not for this specific later model.

If the installation goes well, try what you wanted to try regarding higher resolutions and if it still wont work then let me know what exactly you were trying (how, where, etc).

You should use CRU utility to add custom resolutions: https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Cus … ion-Utility-CRU

(that site has been down for a few days now though so I am attaching CRU 1.4.1 files below)

The monitor shouldn't matter, the GPU driver should. Things may have changed in Win10, I don't know. It's possible that the DP-->VGA adapter is screwing things somehow.
