I got a cheap defective Creative Voodoo2 8mb recently and I want to try everything to get it working again 😀

First the pass-through does not work somehow. I've already checked the resistor values next to the VGA in and out ports. They seem to be correct

I also checked the card with mojo.exe and everything seems to be detected correctly.

Windows 98SE also detects the card and the fastvoodoo drivers install without issues and the memory is correctly detected in the properties.

Any idea?

Here are some pictures from the card:

I don't know anything about recapping or PCB repair, but I was comparing your pictures to the stock CT6670 pictures and I'm concerned with the PCB damage you have at the bottom of the board. Looks like 3 points where a screw dug into the PCB?

Check out DOSBox Distro:

a lightweight Linux distro (tinycore) which boots off a usb flash drive and goes straight to DOSBox.

You are not referring to the breakaway tabs, are you? PCBs are often printed on a large panel and separated later

I thought that it was possibly breakaway tabs, but that looks like more damage than I’ve seen on other pictures. Wasn’t sure.
