Hello
How to know 2D speed rate of a graphic card ?
For example what is the speed of 2D in ?
- 1991 Trident TVGA8900C 1MB ISA.
- 1996 S3Trio64v+ 2MB PCI
- 1996 Matrox Millenium 4MB PCI
- 1998 Riva TNT1 16MB PCI
- 1998 Voodoo 2 PCI.
- 1999 Voodoo 3 3000 AGP.

I think the best is to run a benchmark like those from - https://www.philscomputerlab.com/dos-benchmark-pack.html . Then you can measure performance and compare these cards between each other.

The Voodoo 2 2D speed is 0 as it is a 3D only card.

According to Toms2D benchmark, the 9xxx series of cards do pretty well.
Maybe a cheap Radeon 9250 could be perfect for what you're looking.

From the cards you listed, the V3 3000 should be the fastest being the newer card. However, the 3dfx cards are known for better used for 3D...

At least define which OS you're talking about. DOS doesn't use any accelerators, so it's purely a matter of how effective the framebuffer handles what you throw at it, and how fast you can do that. In other OSs chips can do all kinds of stuf and you'll see bigger differences.
