Just like to report I have (almost) my new TIGA running 😉
Re: Bought these (retro) hardware today

Its the same card mentioned here....:
Intel 82706 Graphic Card
Hercules Graphics Station TIGA
http://www.os2museum.com/wp/two-more-tigas/

It was not easy to find the drivers, therefore....:

DOS drivers are "T2R120BB.ZIP" - "Hercules graphics station card drivers" from
http://www.retroarchive.org/cdrom/nightowl-00 … 012A/index.html

Filename
T2R120BB.ZIP

Windows Drivers are here:
http://files.mpoli.fi/unpacked/hardware/display/hercules/

DOS drivers are not included at mpoli.fi - but these are required to run the card under Windows.

The drivers seem to accept the card but the test program reports memory errors and I have display problems already in the BIOS screen (the card has a VGA part). Needs to be invetigated....

I think my card has 2 problems:
There seems to be a thermal problem with the RAMDAC? After powering on, text display is quite OK. After some minutes it looks like that and gets even worser....

Then the Hercules test programs complains about a memory error. This seems to be related to the ZIP-RAM as the SIMMs are tested later without any error:

wiki TMS34010 leads me to a page about that chip and list of arcade games and one of them is S.T.U.N. Runner which I was searching for long time and hopefully get one so I can play at home.

Get either canned air (invert the can and it will be a freeze spray), or freeze spray can. If either one is cheaper. Get the card act up by warming it up and selectively spray each chip till you find one that get better when colder or change in behavior.

This was consumer repair method to find bad chip back in the day.

VGA functionality is provided by Intel 82706, same as on the Hercules VGA card.
It seems Hercules was the only to use that chipset.

nice that you got it running at all ^^ I hope you can figure out the issues with the card.

I should do that with my TIGA sometime... though that will probably require a deep dive into it ^^

Ah OK, didnt know the TMS34010 was used in arcade games. But as far as I know there is no DOS game support this.

Dont think my card is repairable. I dont have replacement ZIP-RAMs and dont know which one is not working.

Which TIGA do you have, Imi?

it's an Actix TIGA-10 or something like that, idk the exact name off the top of my head, can check when I'm home, it doesn't have a bios chip (though it has a socket?) I assume it needs to be paired with a normal VGA card, or not? idk ^^... it has normal RAM and VRAM and a second TI chip.

unfortunately I didn't find much about it at all when I last looked.

edit: Actix Systems TIGER 10V
TMS34010FNL-50 and TMP34092PQL-64

idk exactly what the second one is, but another TIGA manual for the Evershine EVER-10 also lists both chips and shows the card to be connected to another one via feature connector even though it says "integrated design using the TMP34092 VGA interface chip".
the manual even says under hardware requirements "An EGA or VGA-compatible graphics display card with feature connector"
it also looks similar to it: http://www2.vgamuseum.info/index.php/history- … ne-ever-10-tiga

it's all a bit confusing ^^
I also don't have any drivers for it.

this is the only mention of it I can find anywhere:
