Hello,
so, to make a long story short, I was shopping for a motherboard / CPU combo to build a DOS/Win9x/WinXP capable machine.
After lots of searching I stumbled upon this AsRock 775i65GV complete with I/O shield, a Celeron D and 2Gb of RAM for a bargain.
I thought "hey, this is wonderful! Socket 775 with an AGP slot, an Intel chipset and Win9x native drivers!". Buy it now!

Turns out that the AGP slot is not a "real" AGP slot and the awesome Radeon 9600Pro I had recently got is specifically listed as "not compatible".
Damn it!

I searched high and low and found a Sparkle SP8831DT GeForce FX5600 that IS included in AsRock's compatibility list. Fingers crossed until it arrives.
So I'm stuck with the i865GV integrated graphics for who knows how long (in times of Coronavirus, lockdowns... y'know).
Will it allow at least some games to run? Or is it plain garbage?

(does anyone need a Radeon 9600Pro 128Mb? 😁 )

DOS? Should be fine. For Win9x you can expect performance more or less on par with Riva TNT2 M64 or sometimes TNT2.

I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.
