Hello all,

I have a PC Chips M747-8M board that runs well. I decided to update the bios and install a better graphics card because the onboard SiS6326 is on the weak side. I purchased an NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 PCI card but when when I install it, the system refuses to post. I have been through the bios, reset bios, removed everything but the GPU, disconnected the ribbon cable for the on-board GPU but nothing works.

I have tested the card on a Gateway 2000 Socket 8 board and it works fine. I am starting to wonder if there are different PCI revisions that might make the newer GPU incompatible with the older (circa. 1997) 5V keyed PCI slots on this board (card is keyed universal 5V).

If anyone has any suggestions, I would really appreciate it!
