Hello, I'm seeking an advice about the video card I bought some time ago, It came with a capacitor detached due to the poor packaging.
I was unable to restore the original one but I found another with the same values (it was surface mount).
Then when I tried the card, it showed issues on 3d applications (like 3dmark), the screen is plagued with horizontal marks.
I did different tryings but without being able to solve the issue: cleaning of the card and changed the thermal paste under the heatsink, lower both gpu and memory clocks to minimum values, tried the card on several pc.
I suspect it could be a gpu issue, because in windows everything is fine, while in 3d those are the issues, plus on 3dmark2k1 in the nature test there are several more rendering errors.

If the issue is the gpu, what can I do? I was thinking about trying to reflow it with a heatgun.

Thank you for any help.

What your descriping sounds like bad memory

Thank you for the answer, watching the artifact image, does it sound as bad memory?
Would the heatgun help in any way?

You can try but 99% of the time your going to need a rework station and new ram, and on an x800 it's not worth the expense.
