Interesting, I haven't ever come across an actual MX100 myself, so I don't know what specs they even have. I've only ever seen them referenced in drivers, grouped together as MX 100/200, which is also what an MX200 is shown as in display properties in windows. I always figured the MX100 was some OEM-only model as I never saw them sold individually anywhere.

The only Geforce2 MX card I have, a Hercules, was literally pulled out of the trash.

These MX cards are similar to those Virges or those TNT2 M64 or Vanta cards. You don't need to look for them, they will end up finding you 😜

Afaicr I have also never come across an MX100, but plenty of the other MX variants (MX200, MX400 and GF4 MX420, MX440 and even a single MX460).

I actually came across an MX-460 today, contemplating whether to get it or not for 8 bucks..

Pretty rare card really, I've been thinking of getting an MX440 for my slot one machine.

Cheers

Aye, everything else I have is either too power hungry for the BX board or way overkill in performance.

I have a GeForce 4 mx-460 in my socket A system and it's a great card I'm glad I got it.

Depending on the CPU of course, a Duron 700 is still a Socket A system, and a Geforce 4 MX would be a good match.

However, if it is a more powerful Athlon XP system, you would get a whole lot more performance out a Geforce 4 Ti or higher end Geforce 5 based card.

One good thing about the Geforce 4 MX cards is that they have near universal DOS compatibility and performance.

It's a t-bird at 1200mhz.

The system
Abit KT7A-raid
T-bird @ 1200mhz
1.5 gigs ram
GeForce 4 MX-460
X-fi fatality
250 gig hard drive
XP Pro sp3

The system is shared with me and my son. For educational and older games. It's runs everything very well. We're very pleased with the performance of it.

One of the highlights of the MX440 cards is that most of them use passive cooling and have very low power requirements, while giving you the performance equivalent of a GeForce 2 GTS. A low-noise retro rig is a must have for me.

Finding the version with a 128-bit memory bus can be a bit tricky though. From what I've seen, that version usually has 4 memory chips on each side of the PCB, so 8 in total.

PC#1: Pentium MMX 166 / Soyo SY-5BT / S3 Trio64V+ / Voodoo1 / YMF719 / AWE64 Gold / SC-155
PC#2: AthlonXP 2100+ / ECS K7VTA3 / Voodoo3 / Audigy2 / Vortex2
PC#3: Athlon64 3400+ / Asus K8V-MX / 5900XT / Audigy2
PC#4: i5-3570K / MSI Z77A-G43 / GTX 970 / X-Fi

I wish I had y'all's luck of random mx cards, I keep getting fx 5200/5500 cards, I get rid of one and 3 more appear

If you sell enough of them, you'll get enough cash for something better . For some reason, these cards seem way more expensive than they should be considering the, admittedly, more expensive better options available out there .
