I received a lovely Gigabyte GA-630 Voodoo Banshee in the post today and I'm having issues with Direct3D on it. No matter what driver I try, trying to run a Direct3D app (3DMark 2000 and Carmageddon II in D3D mode) locks the system up. The Direct3D test in DxDiag works, but that's it.
Glide works absolutely fine however, and I've played a couple of hours of Grand Theft Auto, Carmageddon II, and Grand Prix Legends without issue.
The drivers I've tried so far are:
Latest official 3DFX drivers (v1.04.00)
Latest official Gigabyte drivers (appear to be the same as above, v1.04.00, but with Gigabyte branding)
Official 1.03.00 drivers
Evolution v1.00.00 drivers
I've even tried a reinstall of Windows 98. Nothing seems to have helped! Tried with both DirectX 8.0a and DirectX 9.0c installed.
System is a Pentium II 333MHz, 440LX chipset, 160MB RAM, and works fine with other cards.
