I came across this for sale on eBay:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/IMAGRAPH-CORP-SPECTR … KMAAOSwUwRfUo2-

My question is could this just be used as a regular ET6100 graphics card without the drivers for the video capture. I am not going to pay what the buyer is asking, but wondered if it was even worth try to make an offer on the video card.

Most likely yes.

You won't know until you try. Don't expect it be around price of common ET6000 cards though.

I know an ET6100 fetch more than an ET6000 would. I will see if I can negotiate a better price. Thanks for the information.

I think I have this card, or one very similar. I can confirm that mine works fine as an ET6100 VGA card. I can also confirm it's more difficult to sell one of these combo boards than a 'regular' VGA-only board. I found two in a larger lot and given how rare/sought-after the ET6100 was, interest was very muted in my second one. I'd doubt this seller will get the price he's asking 😉

I ultimately decided just to get a 2.25MB ET6000 card for 1/4 the price of the ET6100 board w/video capture. It is going into my 486 Socket 3 Pentium Overdrive system and it would just been overkill for a system like that. Speaking of asking price, here is one that you will really need deep pockets for:

Smart man, I would have advised you to save your money, no real benefit, not that cool no mpeg playback features either I don't think?

Small note. 90% sure you will get 2 Mb ET6000 and not 2.25 Mb card. There's confusion about MDRAM chips on these cards. Chips that marked with 908 number have only 1 mb, and chips that marked as 909 have 1.125 Mb.
Only 2.25 Mb card is capable to display 1024x768 in 24-bit color.

On the one I am getting the memory chips are marked with MD1208.

Still would be 2 mb, because it's 8 on the end.

I got the ET6000 card today and it is in fact 2.25MB card despite the MDRAM chips being marked MD1208 and in ending 8:)

It doesn't matter how much ram is reported by some software or card BIOS. If 1024x768 24-bit color mode is not available or working buggy, then it's only 2 Mb :3

Got it. The 1024x768x24 mode is not available in Windows 9x, but it does work under DOS.
