This is something I felt like making a note of, and I'd be curious to know why this actually happens. Lychnis is a pretty nice side-scrolling action game developed in Korea for DOS IBM PCs released in 1994. One of the best things about it is how it runs silky smooth on my HP Vectra 486 DX2-66 with integrated Cirrus Logic GD-542X video hardware. On my Pentium MMX 166 machine with an S3 Trio64V2/DX+ card, however, the scrolling is totally screwed up with the colors going absolutely crazy when the screen scrolls. I also tested this game on my Toshiba Tecra 550CDT that has an integrated S3 Virge, and the exact same thing happens. The game has two VGA modes (labeled 1 and 2) in the options, though I'm not sure what the difference is. I'm kinda curious as to why this glitch seems to occur with the S3 cards I've tried it on.
