I haven't posted in a long time. Hope everyone is doing well.

I bought this tonight (SEE PHOTOS AT BOTTOM) via ebay.

I already have a #9 GXE VLB with the two different types of memory (VRAM/DRAM socketed), which is also seen HERE (taken from http://www.amoretro.de/):

And here is MY card. I've never seen this version I bought on ebay tonight.

Has anyone upgraded the RAM on a board like this before? I see the other "Uxx" PCB markings for the current RAM chips are km428c256j-6 which are Video DRAM, 256KX8, 60ns, CMOS, PDSO40. https://www.datasheets360.com/part/detail/km4 … 20105431932813/
However, I think only those go to the "Uxx" markings, and the E1,E2,E3,E4 might be a different memory (VRAM?) like on other version of the #9 GXE VLB.

What RAM would go where? And I'm just assuming the SMD capacitors would be all the same as the other memory?

Anyone want to take a wild guess on how to upgrade all of memory on this thing?

Possibly the earlier / lower specced model (110Mhz BT485 RAMDAC) mentioned here

https://www.nextop.de/NeXTAnswers/1618.html

Interesting. This is the "crap" version. 🤣

Could probably replace the RAMDAC with a 135MHZ one, or 175MHz/200MHz if I could find one.

Just need to figure out RAM, if its worth it messing around with. Its an interesting card anyways.

Hey there I have one of the top pictured #9 GXE VLB card, a 928 S3 card but the two 40 pin sockets are EMPTY and half the vram 28 pin vertical ram modules are empty.
I see the specs for the two missing chips seem to be:
256KX8, 60ns, CMOS, PDSO40
But what about for the 8 missing vram chips- what are those and where can I get 8 of these.... and while we are at it, two of the 256KX8, 60ns, CMOS, PDSO40 chips!
I'd like to get this card up to the max ram type... the existing 8 vram chips are soldered so they are "set". I'm not sure what the max ram is for this tip pictured above vlb card. 4mb? Odd choice of ram chips.... two different types... wierd...
