And I also discovered that the "reset" button now works - it didn't before. That's a good sign as well. It set all settings back to default.

What pisses me off is that the buyer clearly had this issue too. Maybe he's had had it for YEARS - the settings were in such a way that horizontal was set to 0 - if you did that while it was "OK", you only saw half your screen!
