I installed Windows 98 on an eMachines T5048 and it's working pretty well, except the only GPU that I have a chance of getting working is the integrated Xpress 200, and I can't get the drivers to work. The latest AMD drivers from its page don't install, not detecting compatible hardware. Using device manager to force it only gives me a error 24. I don't know how to get this working.

This may work :

This is hacked Catalyst 6.2 where I added ID of Xpress200 which I used successfully on a HP NX6125 laptop and one HP desktop with Xpress200 for multiple years.

I tried your driver, but I get the same error, and I can only install it by manually selecting the Xpress 200.

There's a chance it is never going to work, this chipset never had drivers available for 9x line... I have been lucky with the two machines but that is where my knowledge and experience ends unfortunately.

If any OEM massaged xpress 200 drivers to work on 98, I think it would have been Compaq, as they held over 98 support for a few years for the business customers that clung onto 98 based systems and software rather than XP. So to do that, it goes, ID earliest compaq with radeon xpress, ID the softpaq for it's 98 gfx drivers, extract manually with winrar gzip or something that can handle the softpaq files, install manually.

edit: 7zip thats what I was using on them, name was escaping me,

I'm surprised I didn't post back with my results, I have two Xpress 200 based machines, both eMachines, but one is AMD, and the other is Intel. The Intel one just didn't work, however the AMD one works fine with the drivers. The Intel one is the T5048, and iirc the AMD one is the T6520.

I ran Xpress 1100 on windows ME, with catalyst 6.2 for 98/ME.
I manually gave it the x300 or x300 family driver (I don't remember which of the two) and it worked without giving me any errors.
After that I installed the control panel separately from the usual driver package.
You could try it too, maybe if those drivers don't work you could also try the mobility x300 drivers. They are all boards from the same family, so as it worked for me, it might work for you too.

So I'm trying to get 98 on the T5048 again. Booting the setup does this. I tested the DVD with a VM and it shows the boot menu. Anyone know what's wrong here?

Edit: I'm trying to test a Riva 128, and apparently that causes this issue. It worked in another board though but I couldn't resolve the resource conflicts with it.
