And total failure.

I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.

What was the last pci matrox to have 9x and 586 support?

Probably 400 series

I think not. Parhelia was targeted more for professionals, which were using NT for a while at that time (2002). There was no point in wasting resources for supporting dying home user OS.

ME was only a couple years old.

That was only because they couldn’t compete on performance, targeting something to a particular niche to fit a narrative ignores the fact people rarely use devices as intended,
A sale is a sale, 9x support wouldn’t have saved them but a lot of folks continued using 9x long after it’s expiration and they would have sold more cards.

Who would have thought some of their target market would exist on 9x and in the year 2022 lmfao. (Not that they were able to sell to that market at the time but you get the humor)

I was under the impression you can sometimes get early 2k and XP drivers installed on 98SE with official SPs that supports WDM. .. but it's kludgy and a PITA.

Another dark alley to get mugged in explore would be Compaq SoftPaqs in case they came up with something because they seemed to support Win98 for corporate clients way into the 2000s.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.
