Hello all,

I’ve got a Miro20SD VLB card equipped with the S3 Vision868. I want to test other BIOSes on the card and was wondering if anyone would mind dumping their BIOS (PCI models should be fine too), so long as their card is a model equipped with the S3 SDAC RAMDAC (or other compatible DAC chips, if any exist).

I’ve tried the BIOSes on VGAmuseuem, but had no luck there as the Number Nine version of this card uses an AT&T DAC with an 8-bit datapath vs the Miro’s 16-bit S3 DAC.

I believe BIOSes from the Diamond Stealth Video will work, as perhaps Elsa Winner 1000 AVI BIOS and any SPEA BIOSes. My chip itself is a Hong Kong model; not sure if that info is needed for differentiation of the ROMs like on the Vision964.

Here’s my card, for reference:

Ha.
I always answer very fast.

I have a Elsa Winner 1000AVI 2MB DRAM. S3 SDAC: 86C716-SG, so should be the same. I posted also pictures of the card on Vogons.
Main chip S3 Vision 868. 86C868-P

The board's BIOS seems to be weird, it puts automatically very high refresh rates for all the modes.
Bios Version 01.00.01
So when you install Windows 98 SE you run into problems with a TFT monitor. One has to use the xrefresh.exe tool to lower it to 60, 72 or 75Hz first under DOS.

I will skip using the orginal Elsa Bios, I like more the Diamond Bios, which can be found here https://www.vgamuseum.info/index.php/cpu/item … 53-s3-vision868
