I recently acquired a Mitsubishi TFW1105SKTFW which is apparently a Diamond Plus 100. It was at my local university's surplus sale a couple weeks ago and I was surprised how great of an image it has compared to my other 21" Trinitron which is a lot more worn.

The odd thing about this monitor is it says it supports touch. On the front it says it is a PrecisePoint with MicroTouch installed. On the back it has a small area labeled "TouchPort" where a serial cable comes out. I'm assuming I need some sort of driver or software to communicate with and function. Was curious if anyone has this software. Google and Internet Archive searches have yielded nothing other than standard TFW1105 drivers which is the exact same model as the non-touch version of this monitor. I'm sure it's not great, but it'd be fun to play around with such an oddity for a bit at least haha.

It uses a touchscreen from a company called MicroTouch (became part of 3M) and their driver packages for various platfoms under the TouchWare label. I used the few different calibration tools in the software, but I believe I've finally got it in a somewhat good place now! Tested it out with some desktop usage out of more curiosity than anything. Might try a game for laughs to see how or if it works at all haha.

Glad to see you got the software working though, to my eye, the actual monitor itself is definitely the star!

Had some experience working on touchscreen support back in the early 90s, but that was for public access kiosk systems with a heavily tailored interface...can imagine it could become tired fairly quickly for general desktop use.

It definitely is! Looks absolutely great at half brightness so I’m guessing it had low usage back when it was used by the university. My other 21” Trinitron looks dimmer at full brightness.
