Good morning!

I have an AGP Dell STB Voodoo 3 3000 with SDRAM and the V1.10 bios installed - I'd like to update it and I've seen numerous sites from which to download a rom, but I'm not about to flash the wrong bios on a card I was lucky to pay $160 for on ebay. Can someone confirm the latest version for this particular card?

I'm also interested in this. But is there really a good reason to do this? Can see give better performance or image quality.

Looking at other forums here, I can infer that it could provide a bit better performance and quality for VESA modes in DOS, and sometimes sharper image quality depending on the game you're playing. Prob not a night/day difference, but I suppose it'd be nice to have a few extra benefits🤷

Although nothing wrong with your card, this video (just one of many out there) talks about the different BIOS versions and how to check which one to use:

Still, if there is nothing wrong with your card and it's working fine, I wouldn't bother updating the BIOS. There's always a risk.

The DOS VESA glitches are really annoying if you plan on playing those types of games. Here's a video example from another thread: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wV7nwwS-cU. Tweaking the bios and flashing it was very easy, I did it on my v3 3500. There is even a test flash tool you can use before committing to a particular bios file. See these threads and let me know if you have additional questions.

Thread with the original fix: Re: Voodoo 3 2000 Artifacts and noisy video.

Thanks for the replies! The links have been very helpful. After some research I've concluded that Dell never actually released an official bios update for the voodoo 3 3000D - and while I could prob get by with another more recent version, I would rather stay within the limits of the specific model of this card, a Dell OEM version. I might try a flash if serious issues come about, but I doubt any will.
