Hi

Stupid little thread realy, but a laptop I have just been working on (VAIO PCG-N505X) has the WORST scaling I think I've seen on it's LCD for non-native resolutions. See pictures below.

Can you do any better (worse)?

Did later laptop dedicated graphic chips provide resampling based scaling, or is everything always nearest-neighbor interpolation?

Reminds me of the scourge of 800x600 screens connected to NeoMagic chips with only 768KB video memory. 800x600 with 256 colors was the only option that didn't look like total crap.

In the '00s they all went to bilinear interpolation. IIRC the Rage Mobility M already had bilinear instead of nearest neighbor.
