Hello, just found out interesting finding.
On higher resolutions than 320x200, you'll definitely benefit from increased memory bandwidth, when you fill your memory sockets on S3 Trio64 card. Will probably work on every 2D card this way.

Tested card:
Dataexpert S3 Trio64 DSP3364P 1MB (empty sockets = 32-bit memory bus)
Dataexpert S3 Trio64 DSP3364P 2MB (filled sockets = 64-bit memory bus)

Quake Shareware 1.06 , 640x480, fastvid on, linear buffer on, MS-DOS. Pentium II 233 Mhz.

S3Trio64 1MB : 18.9 FPS
S3Trio64 2MB: 22.9 FPS

You'll benefit also in 2D games with SVGA resolutions, like Settlers 2 in 640x480,800x600,1024x768 , you'll have slightly smoother scrolling.
Doesn't work on 320x200, difference in Doom was minimal.
