Okay, here are all the versions of DOS/4GW I found in my massive archive of over 300 games and their associated MD5 checksums:

DOS/4GW EXTENDER

Versions (with MD5 checksum):
1.8 [a63c63f62dadba7163776fbc32ce3fe3]
1.92 [a75fdc120ae2fbb4cb2fd9e7b6a94858]
1.95_1 [498c3f0c7bc7a9206a7b1b049f0c3234]
1.95_2 [15ff24d641ba6ad318362935147bc2fb]
1.97_1 [006211ca60fa3d4b38a9a8da2ade1056]
1.97_2 [ee4033581845b3b8d28c4b7287eb4fc2] *
1.97_3 [fd90468391ade7feb178340c44877e93]
2.01a [ba53625d50570fa897134d57f2da649c]

* This is the most common version of DOS/4GW.

These, and this list of checksums (with filenames), can be found in the attached EXE [RAR/SFX] file.

Yes, it’s my fault.

Thanks guys... I had been putting that off and putting it off... and now I don't have to do it! (i.e. find as many versions of DOS/4GW as possible).

No, you still need to check to see if any of your versions have different checksums, and if so, you need to upload them with their associated checksums. The idea is that this is a COMPREHENSIVE database. (That means it doesn't stop with me.) Sometime in the future I hope to put up a crappy site with all the versions available for download.

Yes, it’s my fault.

It was interesting: the Full Throttle CD-ROM had three different versions of DOS4GW -- 1.8, 1.95, and 1.97.

Yes, it’s my fault.

1. You can try this: divefix2.zip from here: http://www.filelibrary.com/Contents/DOS/54/26.html

2. "Divide by 0" errors are also often caused by excess speed. You can try slowing down your computer with a program like moslo which you can find here: showthread.php?threadid=44

3. Every once and a while DOS4GW will throw a "Divide by 0" error because of mismatched sound config settings. So if this game has a seperate sound config program try setting sound/music to none.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the tips, gil22! One of the few times I get divide by zero errors with DOS/4GW is with the game "Flight Unlimited". The DOS/4GW program is embedded into the game itself which means that I can't do a swap of different versions. I'd like to see if this divefix program works.

Yes, it’s my fault.

Thanx, but I already tried moslo and divefix.
The game needs sound, but it doesn't have a setup prog.

Sound...but no sound setup program? Sounds like you've got a bad copy of the game when you say that.

Yes, it’s my fault.

I don't have Flight unlimited so I don't know if divefix will make any difference. Good Luck though.

Hmmm.....

Are you playing this in a Win98 Dos box or from Real DOS mode. I.e with a boot disk?

Then what, if anything, do you use to set your sound options?

Yes, it’s my fault.

Deleted the INI file (I would back it up first) and stopped every proggie from running in the background (CTRL-ALT-DELETE, end task.)

Worked like a dream.
Worth a try...

Then the sound probably isn't getting set!

I think, to continue working on this problem, we'll need to have the game uploaded somewhere, Robo... Can you RAR it and upload it somewhere? We'll take it apart and put it back together again...

Boobia city...
hmmm...
City translates as this: òÄéø
I'm guessing Hebrew as your ISP translates to Goldenlines, an Israel ISP (http://www.goldenlines.co.il)

But the word "Boobia" doesn't translate. And Google only finds 16 hits for it. Help, Robo! Upload it somewhere, please!
