Hi All

I am having trouble getting my gameport joysticks to work with my ISA computer. I am running dos 6.22 and windows 3.1 with a SB AWE 64 PNP (ISA) and a 2 port gameport ISA card (this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem … e=STRK:MEWNX:IT).

What is happening is that everytime I run a dos game and try to calibrate the controller, the cursor is stuck on the bottom right and wont move. How do I go about diagnosing what is going gon with this?

I guess this is because you have two gameport devices on your machine: one on the AWE64 and the other on the gameport card. You'll have to deactivate one of them to get the other one working, otherwise they'll conflict at the same I/O address.

Another thing: Those 8-bit game cards are from a time before everyone had a sound card with integrated gameport, so you might have to slow down your machine for it to work correctly.

Is there a special reason why you want to use the gameport on the extra card instead of that on the AWE64?

Is the AWE card activated with the CTCTM, CTCU PnP manager in DOS?
