Hi all,

I have a dedicated Dos system (Pentium 120) and am having difficulty getting Descent 2 to calibrate properly. I am using the Gravis Gamepad (serial version) and D2 is upgraded to 1.2. I choose calibrate / joystick and it prompts me to calibrate which I do, but even after several attempts, the game shifts off to the upper right during gameplay. I tested the gamepad with Doom and it calibrated fine. If anyone has a descent.cfg that works with the gamepad, I'd like to know the settings.

try using the "-JoyPolled" command line option

ps: why not run d2x-xl on a windows system

Nice thought, but that's actually a windows parameter (this is my DOS only system).

However, it does seem I lied. 😒 Doom is ALSO moving to the right after calibration even though it worked fine 3 days ago. It's not a Descent issue but a Gamepad Advance serial issue that I am going to have to investigate.
