When I attempt to install Destruction Derby the installer halts and gives the following error:

"This game CANNOT be installed on your system because:

Your system does not contain enough hardware memory to run this game
Your system contains 576Kb of memory, this game requires 6144Kb" [sic]

I have 652 kiB of conventional memory available from running the "mem" command. I have tried with and without XMS memory use enabled.

However it seems that the installer is not complaining about conventional memory, but the amount of physical memory present in the system.

This machine has 512 MiB RAM, which perhaps makes a poorly allocated variable in the installer wrap around or otherwise turn into a corrupted variable?

So I guess my question is how can I, in real DOS, limit the amount of physical extended memory presented to the Destruction Derby installer? Are there any arguments that I can give to DOS/4G, or provide in CONFIG.SYS and/or AUTOEXEC.BAT to accomplish this?
